Flatbed Trailer Manufacturers Compared on One RFQ

FlatDeck Link turns an operating requirement into a quotation brief that candidate original manufacturers can answer on the same basis. The service covers requirement organization, candidate outreach, response normalization, and evidence requests; manufacturing, certification, importing, registration, and buyer approval remain separate responsibilities.

Quotation controls

Where flatbed trailer offers stop being comparable

  1. Family rating versus quoted configuration

A brochure maximum is not the GVWR, GAWR, payload, or tare-weight basis of the offered trailer. Request a specification sheet and rating evidence tied to the quoted deck, frame, axles, suspension, brakes, and options. Also state the expected load shape and distribution because concentrated equipment loads differ from uniformly distributed freight.

  2. Deck dimensions versus usable loading envelope

Nominal length and width do not describe ramps, wheel wells, headboard, stake pockets, tie-down positions, approach angle, or loading equipment access. Put required dimensions and interfaces into the brief, then flag supplier alternatives instead of allowing silent substitutions.

  3. Unit price versus landed procurement scope

An ex-works trailer price cannot be compared with a quotation that includes inspection, inland transport, export packing, freight, duty, or destination service. Each response should identify currency, Incoterm, validity, exclusions, and which party controls each handoff.

  4. Series document versus exact order evidence

Company certificates and family brochures do not prove applicability to the exact trailer, model year, or destination. Ask which drawings, labels, test records, and shipping documents are included, and route regulatory questions to qualified destination-side reviewers.

What the sourcing process coordinates

We structure the duty description, trailer configuration, quantity split, target timing, destination, quotation basis, optional budget, and supplier preference. Responses can then be logged against common line items, while open questions and proposed alternatives remain visible for buyer review.

What requires separate confirmation

Factory capability, actual capacity, production slot, price, lead time, warranty, specifications, compliance documents, import treatment, and registration are not presumed. They require current evidence from the selected supplier and, where applicable, qualified US authorities or advisers.

Send a drawing, reference link, or operating brief

Include quantity, destination, required ratings, deck dimensions, and the documents that must be reviewed. A target budget and high-end, mid-range, budget, or undecided supplier preference are optional.
